If you are OVER THE AGE OF 18 and have never held a driver license from any other state/country, you must take the 4-Hour Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) online course. Click below to register for the TLSAE course.
If you are UNDER THE AGE OF 18 and have never held a driver license from any other state/country, you must take the 6-Hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course. Suncoast Safety Council does not currently offer the DETS course.
The Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education (TLSAE) Online Course is approved by the Florida Department of Highway Safety & Motor Vehicles and is required for individuals OVER THE AGE OF 18 in order to obtain a Florida driver license.
This course is equivalent to the Drug, Alcohol, Traffic Awareness (DATA) course in Florida. Our course reviews basic traffic rules and provides information on the dangers and penalties of drug and alcohol use in accordance with Florida Statute 322.095.
